This Special Needs Bandana Bib came into being after I saw all the cute little bandana bibs for babies, and I wanted to create a bib for my nephew, who has cerebral palsy, that didn’t look like a bib.
So I drafted and tested a new pattern enlarged from a baby bib up so it would fit a larger neck and head and figured out how to make the top layer drape more bandana like, but still fit around the edges, and be adjustable.
It is great for children who have just grown out of the baby bibs, but are a little small yet for the bigger adult bandana bibs. So Kindy to Primary School age.
They are designed to be fairly narrow around the back of the neck to avoid any unnecessary warmth in our hot climate, with 3-4 evenly spaced snaps across the back of the neck to allow for adjustment.
Made to protect their clothing and keep them dry so you only need to change the bib instead of going through the hassle of undressing and redressing them several times a day.
Our Heavyweight Child Size Bandana Bibs are made with 3 distinct Layers:
- Upper cotton fabric is durable, breathable and cool so it wont irritate the wearer’s skin.
- The absorbent inner core is thick cotton toweling which is our most absorbent option, for the heavy days.
- The lower layer is a soft waterproof Polyurethane Laminate Fabric which should rest on the wearer’s clothing, keeping them nice and dry.
I also make a lightweight cooler version of these child size bandana bibs with bamboo terry inside for hot days.
We have carefully prewashed the natural fabrics in a hot load to prevent color running or shrinking in future washes, and our bibs are made to be really durable to withstand being washed everyday to keep them fresh.
We recommend using a cold machine wash, and line drying in the shade to preserve the bright colors, and save on energy, but they can be warm washed and popped in the dryer on warm if necessary.
Proudly designed and made both ethically and professionally right here in Qld, our machinists love what they do and get paid a living wage.
We are always happy to work with clients to make up an order, and send the invoice through to their NDIS fund manager for payment.
We ship by Australia post, usually within the same or next business day as the payment clears our account if the bibs are in stock.
Please allow an additional two weeks for us to make up any custom or back orders.
We have limited fabrics and I will let you know if we cant get enough of a print/color to make all you ordered. Then I will organise alternatives with you, usually we just do additional ones in a different print or color you like.
We can make any of our 3 layer bib styles in any of the suitable prints and fabrics we stock, so if you want one of our bib design in a colour/print you see on another bib, you can email me with what you want and I can organise a custom order at no extra cost.
